"O Death, Where Is Thy Sting?"
This Angel is a meditation on beauty, transcendence, and eternal hope. Inspired by 19th-century funerary sculpture, she sits gracefully atop a family plot in Houston, TX. Her feet brushing sculpted clouds, as if moments from flight. Clad in flowing robes, her wings enfold her in quiet majesty. In one hand, she lifts a scroll inscribed with the words from I Corinthians: “O death, where is thy sting?” Her gesture is not one of mourning, but of invitation—welcoming the departed toward peace, her presence a promise of grace that outlasts grief.
